JACK AND THE BAKED BEANSTALK

Originally published by Pearson Australia, this play is now part of the Big Cat series.  Big Cat is the education division of HarperCollins.  They asked me to contribute plays to their reading scheme for children.

This version was based mainly on my full-length play JACK AND THE GIANT.  It follows the traditional story of Jack, except that the beanstalk is made of baked bean tins!  Using rhyme gives the story pace and humour.

Hopefully the play will be useful in the classroom for children learning to read, and might also be performed by them in school groups or theatre groups.
